Since 1782 the Teeling family have been crafting Irish whiskey. The Teelings are renowned for their vision in doing things differently and their whiskeys embody this entrepreneurial spirit. 2015 marked the year a new generation of Teelings returned to their distilling roots in the Liberties area of Dublin City. The Brabazon Bottling Series is a limited edition collection of unique Irish Single Malts capturing the full impact and flavour crafted through fortified wine cask maturation. Series No.1 focuses on sherry cask maturation and consists of a range of carefully selected sherry cask aged whiskeys producing a full flavoured sherry influenced Irish Single Malt. This bottling consists of a vatting of 6 different sherry casks, carefully chosen for their complementary character. The Brabazon Bottling Series1 is bottled at 49.5% with no chill filtration allowing for all the natural flavours of this whiskey to be retained. Limited to just 12,500 bottles this is a whiskey to savour.
Consisting of fully matured Single Malt in 250 litre sherry hogsheads casks provides an earthy richness, dried fruit, roasted hazelnut and toffee character.
Consisting of Single Malt finished in 220 litre Pedro Ximenez and Olorosso sherry casks adding an extra layer of sweetness, red beries and nuttiness with a hint of liquorish.
Consisting if Single Malt fully matured in 500 litre sherry butts providing the backbone of European oak spiciness, light fruit sweetness, dry tannins and toasted wood character.
There is another family synonymous with this specific area of the city – the Brabazons. From the 16th to 19th century the Brabazon family presided over this area of the Liberties and it was William Brabazon, the third Earl of Meath, who was granted the right to establish the great trading square at Newmarket.
